The first 10 days of the year were changeable with temperatures generally below normal. Snow grains fell on the evening of the 5th, and a little sleet fell on the morning of the 7th. Rain was mostly light with no daily totals during the month above 5 mm. From the 11th to 20th, it was mostly mild. No measurable rain fell after the 19th, it was mostly rather cold and frosty with a little sleet late on the 27th.

February - Cold and sunny with rainfall slight above average.

The opening 10 days of the month were mainly cold, dry and rather cloudy. On the 2nd, the maximum temperature was only 0.3°C. Snow grains fell on the morning of the 3rd. Between the 11th and 23rd it was unsettled with 11 mm of rain on the 14th, and 12 mm on the 19th. Thunder occurred on the 16th. It was mild for a while, but it was cold from the 19th, with light snow at times from the 21st to 26th.

March - Cold and rather wet with average sunshine.

Although no measurable rain fell during the first week, light snow showers  fell on the 2nd and 3rd. It was cold with frost on each of the first 6 nights. The 8th and 9th were mild, but unsettled with thunder on the afternoon of the 9th. From the 11th to 22nd it was mostly dry and cold, although sleet showers fell on the 11th and 14th with snow grains on the 17th. The last 9 days were mild and changeable.  

April - Dry, temperatures and sunshine close to average. 

It was mostly showery and rather cool until the 9th, with hail falling on the 2nd, 4th and 7th; and 13 mm of rain fell on the 9th. Maximum temperatures were under 10 °C on both the 4th and 11th, and air frost occurred on the nights of the 3rd/4th and 10th/11th. The remainder of the month was milder with maxima above 15°C. on 10 occasions. Although changeable weather prevailed, rainfall was light.
 
May - Dull and wet with temperatures slightly above average.

The first 5 days were dry, but it was unsettled from the 6th to the 9th with thunder early on the 8th. It was then mainly dry until the 15th. Much of the first fortnight was warm with the temperature exceeding 20°C on 6 days. From the 16th until the 30th there were no completely dry days, and it was often rather cool. Thunder occurred on the afternoon of the 23rd with hail falling on the morning of the 29th.

June - Very dry, sunny and warm. 

No measurable rain fell during the first 11 days, and on most days it was warm and sunny. Showery rain at the end of the second week was followed by mostly dry weather until the 20th. It then became unsettled for a while but with temperatures near, or rather above normal.  The exception was on the 26th when the maximum temperature was only 15.4°C. From the 27th, it was dry and increasingly warm.

July - Hot, dry and sunny

Temperatures exceeded 30°C on 9 days during July.  Thunderstorms broke out on the afternoon of the 4th, and again early on the 5th. This began a week of unsettled weather with near normal temperatures culminating in thunderstorms late on the 10th. The coolest day of July was the 7th with a maximum of 21.1°C. Further thunderstorms occurred on the 22nd,26th and 27th, but rain was mostly light.  

August - Dull, cool and wet.

Winds were predominantly from between southwest and northwest during August bringing plenty of unsettled and cool weather. Rainfall was mostly light until the 11th, and from the 5th to the 8th the only 3 occasions when the temperature exceeded 25°C occurred. On both the 13th and 23rd rainfall of 22 mm occurred and thunderstorms were reported on the afternoon of the 13th and early on the 24th.
 
September - Very warm and wet with above average sunshine.  

Light rain fell on the first 2 days, but then it was mainly dry until the 11th. It was mostly warm, although the maximum on the 2nd, 19.1°C, was 1 of only 5 occasions during September when the daily high was below 20°C. Thunderstorms occurred on the 12th and 13th, producing 12mm and 14mm respectively. It was mainly dry from the 15th to the 20th, but then unsettled. Nearly 21mm of rain fell on the 29th.

October - Mild,  wet and rather dull.

More than 19 mm of rain, including melted hail, fell during thunderstorms on the 1st, and further thunderstorms gave nearly 17 mm on the 11th. In between these dates it was changeable, but from the 12th to 16th it was dry. between the 9th and 16th there were 4 days with maximum temperatures above 20°C, On the 23rd, nearly 21 mm of rain fell with a maximum temperature of 13.2°C.

November - Very sunny and mild with above average rainfall.

No measurable rain fell on the first 9 days, and there was plenty of sunshine with several frosty nights. From the 10th until the end of the month there were only 4 completely dry days, and on the 17th over 14 mm of rain fell, and thunderstorms occurred on the 25th and 26th. Maximum temperatures were mostly in the range 11 to 14 °C, but on the 21st the high was only 9.3°C, the only day below 10°C.

December - Mild, sunny and wet.

From the 1st until the 18th it was changeable and mostly  very mild. On the 6th, over 12 mm of rain fell, and on the 7th, thunderstorms  gave another 11 mm. Maximum temperatures exceeded 11°C on 12 of the first 15 days, and again from the 28th,  In between it was cooler, and from the 19th to 22nd it was cold and foggy with a high of 1.2°C on the 21st, but only 2 frosts occurred during the whole month.
